DESPERATION

Looking for something,
But I don't know where to look...
Waiting for something,
But I don't know what it is...
Trying to find something,
But I haven't figured out why I bother...

'Tis a terrible task for anyone
To set upon, especially
When there is no basis from which to work...
Should I give up this quest?
Don't know if it's possible to find
What it is, where it is, and if it is...

Life -- is it a crazy test of sorts?
Well, maybe that's the case.
And if it's a test, and if I pass,
Then perhaps that "something," that "it,"
Might just be happiness?
